To celebrate the new year, and because I seriously need to get back to writing and need to test my writing abilities, I'm taking an idea from htbthomas and for the next year, I'm offering Birthday Fics!!! I think (and hope) life has slowed down enough that I can give this a try.

Here's how it works: Suggest to me one of my fandoms, give me a prompt and I'll write you a one-parter. For example, my b-day fic from htbthomas was in the Superman [Returns] fandom, and the prompt was that Clark and Lois are stuck in an elevator, giving him the perfect opportunity to tell her who he is - what would he do? Give me at least 2 weeks notice before your birthday (there's leeway if your b-day is in January, of course), so I can have time to write it and post it on your birthday. :) I need all the writing "jobs" I can get, so I hope you'll all participate!

A/N: There was just way too much bitterness, anger, and hostility in Lois’ voice in SR that I just couldn’t let the idea go that there’s a history between her and Superman that hasn’t yet been told. This is my attempt to tell that story, especially now that we’re not getting another movie. *tear*

Also, just so you know, I haven’t read much in the way of Superman fic (or comics, etc.), so if I seem a little green (esp. since this is my first Supe story), I apologize. rizny only asked for a nice, happy fic (Clois, I assumed ;) ) that included Richard, and surprisingly, this plot that I’ve had rolling around in my brain for the last two years totally fit that criteria. So yay!!

This story has taken so many avenues, being written and rewritten and completely discarded only to be resurrected almost two years later… Let’s just hope this is its last trip. :) Thanks to htbthomas for the beta!! *hugs*

A/N: A couple of things: I am not a BtVS (TV) fan, so I don’t know what context this quote was used – the muse just used her imagination. :D Secondly, I skimmed through watching “The Getaway” while I was making lunch and I think I got all the details ironed out. If not, though, and you happen to catch something my betas and I missed, please forgive us. It originally aired five years ago, for crying out loud. ;)

I have to admit: I’ve always wanted to write a fic covering the switch from “The Getaway” to “Phase One” since it always seemed like such a jump. I’m so glad the muse was finally inspired! (Thanks, Tracie! :D )
